Today after a bleak morning and arguments about how to spend our weekend (it got pretty heated, actually) we opted to not visit Castel Gandolfo and rather trek to the 30 cent pastry shop and revel in the beauty of cheap and rich baked goods, then return to the villa to play card games all night and watch episodes of the Twilight Zone until the common section closed.
Not much philosophy in Hearts and donuts except maybe... It was a good day, a fun day, a full and satisfying day, but was it a great day? Did we do anything truly worthy? Greatness feels too daunting a task.
